Sarasota, FL - January 25, 2012 – The 2nd annual Art Sarasota will return March 30-April 2, 2012 aboard SeaFair, America’s Megayacht Venue. The dynamic event will gather 28 prestigious galleries presenting paintings, sculpture, photography, design, and fine art glass. In collaboration with some of the exhibiting galleries the Fair will feature a number of special artist exhibitions and receptions as well as cocktail parties and music on the sky deck.
Last year's event attracted 18,000 visitors and an overwhelming response:
"This is the most exciting thing to happen to Sarasota since Ringling brought the circus," commented Brad Goddard of PNC Wealth Management and a co-sponsor of the 2011 Preview Party to benefit the Sarasota Museum of Art (SMOA).
"It was festive and elegant. When you're aboard it's very conducive to buying because you feel like you're really away and on holiday." - Joanne Olian, former Metropolitan Museum Curator.
"Very pleased to be here. Been to several art shows all over the world and it's a beautiful show. My sister in law is the manager of Wentworth Gallery, Washington DC, and she was sent here specifically this evening to experience this event." - Valerie Walters, Collector
SeaFair will return to the picturesque Marina Jack’s at 2 Marina Plaza. Fair hours will be March 30 - April 2, noon - 7 pm. The Sky Deck will be open extended hours of noon - 9pm, giving attendees a few additional hours to enjoy music, cocktails and the panoramic views of Sarasota Bay.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $20 for a One-day ticket, $25 for a Multi-day ticket and $30 for a Priority Boarding ticket. A limited number of advance reduced price tickets are available on the SeaFair website at expoships.com.
ABOUT SEAFAIR:
SeaFair is the world's first mobile megayacht venue and one of the ten largest privately owned yacht in the United States. Groundbreaking in scale, ingenuity and style, the yacht - which remains dockside during each event - pairs international fine art, jewelry and collectables with harbor view dining and special events in cities along the eastern seaboard.
The $40M purpose built yacht was designed by internationally acclaimed yacht designer Luiz De Basto and at 228 feet, it is the largest ship built for commercial operation in the Intracoastal Waterway. The visionary vessel requires a draft of only 6.5 feet allowing it to dock at small yacht facilities in central city locations rather than use commercial ports.
