The September 2008 Chelsea Antiques Fair is taking a sabbatical for a year.

Prestigious as it has been, Chelsea cannot cover its costs! Sadly the size (under 40 stands) is just insufficient to cover the costs of promoting the fair as a top flight event in today's world!
Always known for furniture, there is just too little space to accommodate a good selection of dealers.

Established in 1950, hundreds of top dealers have exhibited at one time or another. Penmans would like to thank them all for their stylish participation.

but all is not lost - plans for 2009:
Penmans hope to run The Chelsea Antiques Fair in both March and September, along the simpler, more modest lines of this year's March Kings Road Antiques Fair. Details will emerge in September 2008.

The new plan will encompas more smaller stands, offering a relatively affordable platform for out-of-London specialists to bring their wares into the Metropolis! More details in September 08.
