Every cloud has a silver lining! Despite encountering un(fore)seen weather conditions, Unseen Amsterdam is full of corners and shelters to cosy up and enjoy the day's festivities. Head to the Fair for your last chance to buy an artwork from one of our 53 exhibiting galleries from 18 countries around the world, take a seat in the Living Room and enjoy the last of the talks with our co-curators Futures and Aperture or join an Artist Talk with Grolsch Unseen Residency recipient Thomas Kuijpers. And that's just our special events! Exhibitions, On-site Projects and all our programme elements are going full steam ahead. We're open until 17.00 today, be brave, put your raincoat on and come on down before it's too late!
Yesterday afternoon Klaus Thymann and Simon Norfolk of Project Pressure opened the exhibition When Records Melt, with a talk and presentation about their groundbreaking work. The exhibition features seven international artists that focus on raising awareness through a variety of photographic interpretations, depicting issues surrounding the global environment in a new and inspiring context. See these immense artworks in the flesh for the last time today.
There are still dozens of book launches and signings taking place at the Book Market, including Stephen Gill's Night Procession, Anaïs López's The Migrant and Jan Hoek's Mental Superpowers. From 12.00-14.00 we'll present The Photobook of Tomorrow where leading names from artistic education join forces to discuss the various agendas regarding photobooks and the educational programmes supporting photobook production. This event is held in the Annex. Everyone is welcome!
