Foire du livre et du papier de collection - Beurs van het boek en waardevolle documenten (BELGIUM)
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Belgium Antiquarian Booksellers' Association (CLAM/BBA) a very extraordinary antiquarian book fair will take place from 12 to 13 March at the Autoworld in Brussels. 19 antiquarian booksellers will showcase a selection of rare and precious books from incunabula to 19th and 20th century books, atlases, maps and views and Japanese woodcut prints. The highlights of the fair reflect the history of Belgian bibliophily through the centuries: Marianne Moorthamers, for example presents an exceptional collection of 187 works by the finest authors (and victims of copyright thefts in the 19th century: Balzac, Hugo, George Sand etc. Philippe Luiggi opens up a chapter from the history of Surrealism with the first and only edition of the Belgian avantgarde revue "Oesophage" from the year 1925, edited by the poet and artist E. L. T. Mesens (1903-1971). Eric Speeckaert offers unique editions of early printed books, such as "Antidotarius animae" (1484/85 [1487]) by Sarvasanctus de Faenza, while Isabelle Garcia showcases milestones from the history of economy. Among the children's books, Bertold Löffler's "Sieben Zwerge Sneewittchens (1911)" is among the outstanding children's books on show at the Autosalon, while Sanderus offers rare maps and atlases of which the "Cosmographia" of Ptolemaeus is one of the most precious offers.
